Upgrade and use of power bi desktop

Question

1. Do I need to download a new installation package every time for updating the power bi desktop application installed through the installation package? Can I not update it directly through the power bi program?
2. power bi desktop has been in the free trial state, and will be automatically renewed when it expires.It could be used all the time last year, but this year, some employees reported that power bi in teams could not be used normally as last year, and they could not share with others or open the files shared by others (some people could still share and use as last year). It was prompted that they needed to upgrade to power bi pro, so they could only download it to the local.Reopen file
