System->display->Graphics GPU Preference does not work

Hi, I'm well aware of how to set GPU preference on my laptop. There are two (why two?? quite odd) ways , NVIDIA Control panel AND Win Settings. However COH3 (and many other apps also) dont use the dedicated GPU even the value is set (high performance NVIDIA GPU) in both places. Next time running the app still uses integrated GPU, also after boot. However some games seem to use NVIDIA RTX 3050 GPU, e.g. Fallout 4. But no matter how I tweak the settings, on global preferences, program specific preferences -> some apps just won't run on NVIDIA GPU.

  • tried installing latest NVIDIA drivers + all possible combinations on GPU preferences
  • tried installing NVIDIA drivers from Lenovo model specific site + all possible combinations on GPU preferences
  • Ideapad 5, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3050 GPU, Ryzen 9 500 series, WIN 11 (latest updates installed)
  • --> no luck. WHY THE GPU PREFERENCE IS NOT AFFECTING TO ANYTHING?
