Hi Guys,

Got a strange issue with one PC not being able to access a website, while other PC's in same location and network can.

gets an error saying that the URL is too long. To clarify, they can reach the website but when trying to log in this is when the error comes up, the credentials are correct as can log in with these from different computers

What I have tried so far

clearing all internet caches, tried 3 different browsers same on each (one was complete new install)

tried incognito mode

ensure date and time correct

tried a different user (log in profile) on the same PC and get the same error

Ran a SFC check all good

Disabled all AV and firewall

all other PC's on site can access the website without issue, this PC can access any other website without problems

To be honest I am perplexed by this, I can arrange for the PC to be flattened but would like to find out what is causing the problem

    Hello there,

This can be caused by a number of things but is most often due to a long query string being sent in the URL but as this is only with specific devices please try the below steps.

-Check your server logs for mentions of the error or any other identifying entries.

-Your browser developer tools may give you some indication of the error’s cause — especially your Console.

-Reach out to the site owner or developer (if it’s not you) and let them know the error exists. It could be that they will have a fix or can advise you further on what to do.''

You can also Flush your DNS cache and see if that helps.,

Type 'ipconfig /flushdns' in the Command Prompt, and press Enter

Hope this resolves your Query !!
