Sharepoint - Already generated sharing link will not be accessable anymore when file name is changed

Hi Supports,
I am try to use a sharing link of SharePoint in browser to access the resource, but it did not work. And this case only happens when the file type is pdf or txt & the file is renamed.

Here is how the case happen for reference

step1 - generate a sharing link

step2 - rename the file

step3 - use step1 link to access resource, return nothing

May i konw is there any possibility caused the issue and how should i do if i want to use previous sharing link to access resource after the file name has been renamed ?

    Hi Jane ,

    I tested it in my environment and got the same result as yours. This is because the Share link contains the path of the file. When the file is renamed, the path in the link changes to point to the renamed file. The file pointed to by the previous link no longer exists, so the file cannot be opened.

    Moreover, the same situation will occur when you use the Copy link method to share.

    It is recommended to rename files with caution. Or rename and share again later.

    Thanks for anwser !

    I think i konw the reason from your answer, but I am still confused about why this issue only exist in txt and pdf, however, other file types work well, such as ppt, excel, doc ... besides, i found this issue seems to happen recently, it worked well before, did any strategy change from MicroSoft ?
