Visual Studio - Padlock inconsistency using GitHub

As a team, we are using GitHub for version control within Visual Studio.

When a colleague adds a project to the solution, it has a blue padlock/red tick to indicate the checked-out status. However, when I add a project, this padlock is not displayed.

What would cause this inconsistency in functionality?

Thanks.

    Hi @Peter Bishop

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

    Are you using VS2022?

After adding projects or files, please go to Git Changes and make a Git commit. Then, the padlock icon appears.

For more details, please refer to: Make a Git commit in Visual Studio

    Sincerely,

    Anna
