A device wouldn't switch from Win 10 Pro til Enterprise, but have done it before.

I have a few devices that are Windows 10 Pro activated . The users are 'Microsoft 365 E3' licensed with the Windows 10 Enterprise set to On on the licenses page, and it have worked at some point, but doesn't anymore.

Other users can log on to the device and it makes it work.

Tried logging off all connections, "fixing accounts" under Shared experiences, updating Azure ad credentials, but nothing works. The device says "Windows 10 Enterprise subscription isn't valid", but it shouldn't.

Does it require you to reinstall Windows or is there something else you can do?

Best regards

Erik

    Hello there,

Can you share the exact error message you are getting?

According to Microsoft’s documentation, it’s possible to use the DISM /online /Set-Edition: command to change to a new edition of Windows.

You can also use KMS to activate the enterprise version.

To use KMS, you need to have a KMS host available on your local network. Computers that activate with a KMS host need to have a specific product key. This key is sometimes referred to as the KMS client key, but it is formally known as a Microsoft Generic Volume License Key (GVLK). https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started/kms-client-activation-keys

Hope this resolves your Query !!
