Does changing from one log analytics workspace to another in application insights in the same subscription retain historical data?

Question

I have an application insights mapped to the workspace A. I want to change the workspace to workspace B which is in the same subscription.

1. Will the historical data retain?
2. If workspace B is in another subscription then do I have to use logic app to export historical data?

Please provide any other approach if available.

2. Yes, or just let the data age out (if the retention period isn't to long?) e.g. run Workspace A and B in parallel.
   Moving data is really hard, and complex. This isn't AppInsights within a Log Analytics workspace, if so you can try? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/logs/move-workspace
