Does anyone have a solution for why the calendar attempts to open, then shuts down?
No solution yet, but various strings indicate Microsoft working on issue. I am now using Calendar tab in Yahoo Mail to access calendar info, so not a great solution, but works for now.
Are you facing this issue with any other applications?
Try run Windows Update and download and install all updates.
Try open Microsoft Store and check for update and download and install all updates for Microsoft apps.
same problem. please fix.
I just downloaded the most recent update and now it is working!
Calendar won't turn on, and in settings I'm unable to set the app to "on".
I'm moving to Google Calendar, since I need it for work anyway.
Same problem which started March 2nd on my desktop running Windows 10. But my laptop running Windows 11 works fine. Problem is my Desktop is not able to run Windows 11 because of a older I-7 CPU.
Reza Ameri above has the correct fix. MS just added new update!
thanks Reza!
The same thing is happening to me; Calendar starts, the calendar screen displays for maybe a second but the screen doesnot completely paint, then the screen vanishes. This started happening around Feb17-ish, 2023
i tried repair and reinstall and did not help.
The calendar app is just a "reader", while the data is shows is always stored online at http://calendar.live.com. That's so that if you buy a new computer (or drop/break/lose yours), you won't lose any information: it's all on the website ready to sync again.
So head to that link and you should find all your data.
I have 2 machines with the same problem and was able to find an EZ solution. If you click on the clock (bottom right of the task bar) it will bring up your calendar. Click on SHOW AGENDA and you will have access to calendar entries. Its even possible to update your calendar from the CLOCK application. Unfortunately this solution only works on one of my machines. The SHOW AGENDA option is not available on one of the machines. I tried to find a solution to that problem but was not successful. On that machine I use the work around logging in to http://calendar.live.com site as suggested, to access to the calendar on that machine.
Regards.
Just wanted to say having the same issue; hope Microsoft comes up with an answer soon!

Thank you for sharing, this is a known issue and it should be fixed now. Please open the Microsoft Store and download and install all updates and especially update for the Mail and Calendar and this should solve the problem. In case, the problem persists, then make sure report it using the Feedback Hub app.
You bring Mail and Calendar it up in the Microsoft Store and there's no setting to download, update, or anything. If you click on the link to the Mail and Calendar website it takes you to a site that tries to sell you Microsoft 365. How can you people at Microsoft screw something up so badly? Aren't you supposed to experts at this?
Thank you!

I spent hours trying to fix this problem yesterday. I wonder how many thousands/millions of others spent time following useless advice for a "fix" that wasn't in yet. For such a fundamental app that everyone uses, how can Microsoft screw it up?
Hallelujah! After searching for 3 days, I finally found this answer. Thank you!
Problem still there not fixed.
