Very Slow download speeds after recent update

Running Windows Server 2016 Datacenter, build 14393.5717 on AWS Workspace with Edge 110.0.158746.

Since patching the OS with the January patch set, download speeds in Edge have dropped from 90MB/s to 1.5MB/sec. I have checked network speeds which is unchanged. I tested the same download with Firefox where I get full speed, ~90MB/s. I have tried the following with no improvement:

Enabling parallelism - slower at first, then returned to 1.5MB/s

Removed all extensions

Closed all tabs except for the download

Reset browser to defaults

Applied the latest (this is where I am now. )

Re-installed Edge from scratch

Removed Edge and installed an older version

Currently I have my users on Firefox as a workaround but this is not a viable option as a permanent solution, the apps are certified for Edge only. The browser seems slightly slower in general but the downloads are the real pain-point.

Any help is appreciated.

    Hi @Justin Chester

You can try the following methods to see if they can fix the issue:

    1. The latest version of Edge is 110.0.1587.63 now. Please update to the latest version.
    2. Go to edge://settings/privacy in Edge and turn off Microsoft Defender SmartScreen under Security.
    3. Go to edge://settings/privacy in Edge and turn off Save time and money with Shopping in Microsoft Edge under Services.
