We use WSUS to update Edge on our servers and do not have internet access within our datacenter.

Edge now is version 109.0.1518.70 and the update put a folder 109.0.1518.78 next to the 109.0.1518.70 folder

also msedge.exe in this folder is the old version, new_msedge.exe is the new one.

Newer updates fail because the 78 version is no longer supported on server 2012 R2

How to get the latest version (109.0.1518.78) active en remove the old one?

Hi, i am wondering why the edge 110 update is deployed via WSUS to our few remaining server 2012 r2 systems, when is is not compatible and produces install errors on all of them.

Normally when an update is not compatible with a specific OS it should not be deployed to incompatible devices !?

    Hello there,

Microsoft Edge version 109 will be the last version supported on Windows Server 2012 and Windows 2012 R2. Microsoft Edge version 109 will receive critical security fixes and fixes for known exploit bugs until October 10, 2023, on these platforms.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
