KMS server failed to update key - the installation of package failed

Question

Dear Experts,

We just received new KMS key from VLSC, I was advised we need to update it in our KMS server so our new Office 2021 clients can be activated. I copied the Office2021VolumeLicensePack_x64.exe to our KMS server and run it as admin but it always saying The installation of this package failed.

Any idea? we are running KMS server on Windows 2019 datacenter edition.

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are  having query\issues related  to KMS server.

1. Disable any Antivirus program or Windows firewall you may have for temporary purpose.

2. Cleanup below Temp folders location -> Open Start -> Run -> Type below location one-by-one and press enter 
    ->  C:\Windows\Temp
    ->   %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp

3. Please verify Windows Installer services is running.

4. Try to run this setup from command prompt and verbose mode enable so  that you can see exact error.
