As you have stated that you do not have a Ping response have you checked if the physical connections are secured properly?
You can also try checking the below points and see if that helps.
Turning off the firewall.
Disable IPv6
Check NetBIOS is working
Check the Sharing Settings
Enable SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\AllowInsecureGuestAuth set to 1
