Dear All,

I would really appreciate if some one can help me on this.

We are troubleshooting an issue related to incorrect time zone is picked by Windows. We did a packet capture and found out that Windows is picking correct UTC time from time.windows.com. But since Windows is picking incorrect location gives the wrong time zone. This happens with the Wifi network. With some APs Windows gets the correct time zone and with some APs windows doesn't get the correct timezone in the same network.

Again really appreciate if some one can help us on this.

Thank you,

Gayan

    Hello there,

    Are you using any VPN?

Windows uses wifi mac addresses broadcast by nearby Wifi routers. If you or someone in your immediate vicinity has moved into the area recently and your WLAN card can detect their access point (regardless of if you are using a wired or wireless connection) then it could determine the last updated location of this.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
