Hi, I'm planning to update my sharepoint 2016 to the latest update but current version of sharepoint server 2016 is RTM version.

I just want to make sure, is it safe to jump through to the latest version, or it need some stage update?

is there something I need to consider before update the Sharepoint Server?

Thanks

    Hi Ardan,

you can safely update to the most recent patch level - no intermediate fixes are required.

Just ensure to install as well the language independent and the language dependent fix for the desired month. Both are always required.

If there was no language dependent fix released in a month you need to install the most recent available language dependent fix released in one of the previous months.

For February CU both are available see here for details:

    Cheers,

    Stefan
