Database Experimentation Assistant Create Report Error

Question

Unable to run Create report in DEA - consistently says not enough permissions despite being a sysadmin

Trying to compare 2 very small event trace files as a test to performing a much bigger trace and comparison however either as SA or windows authentication it simply wont run the report. Tried 'As Administrator' also.

The error message indicates that the current user doesn't have the required permissions to perform the operation in the SQL Server Distributed Replay tool.

To resolve this issue, you need to grant the necessary permissions to the user. The user must have sysadmin privileges to perform trace and analyze the reports in the Distributed Replay tool.

To grant sysadmin privileges to the user, you can follow the below steps:

Connect to the SQL Server instance as an administrative user.

Expand the Security folder, and then expand the Logins folder.

Right-click on the login that needs sysadmin privileges, and then click Properties.

In the Login Properties window, select the Server Roles page.

Check the sysadmin box, and then click OK to save the changes.

After granting the necessary permissions, you should be able to perform the trace and analyze the reports in the SQL Server Distributed Replay tool.

Experiencing the same error while generating report and the current user having sysadmin privileges', still the report couldn't be generated.
