Old file types disappear in OneDrive

Question

MacOS 11.7 When I upload a folder containing older file types that Office 365 can't open the file names do not appear at all in OneDrive. For these older files (e.g. a word .doc file older than Office 365 Word will open) I generally have to open them with a text editor or use a file converter. I really would like them to copy into OneDrive however since I'm changing computers.

Any work arounds?

Could you please let us know how did you upload this folder to OneDrive?

• Such as syncing folder and files via OneDrive desktop app (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/onedrive/id823766827?mt=12 or https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/onedrive-release-notes-845dcf18-f921-435e-bf28-4e24b95e5fc0#OSVersion=Mac) or uploading folder to OneDrive online (https://onedrive.live.com/about/en-us/signin/) directly.
• I would suggest you try both to have a check.

Then please check the file names for restricted characters, ensure you don't have any illegal characters such as . " * : < > ? / \ | included in the filenames you are trying to sync. 

Besides, if there is any anti-virus software, it's recommended to disable it temporarilyd.
