  • SQL Server 2017 Enterprise Edition
  • With Administrator Permission

While creating a new SSRS Subscription with the ff:

delivery option -> Windows File Share

Render Format->PDF

Credentials -> Windows User Credential

Overwrite Option -> Overwrite existing file with new version

When I click the button "Create Subscription"; Error message-> An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database.

We have a QA environment with same SQL Sever 2017 Ent Ed, when I created the new ssrs subscription I did not encounter the error message.

The difference between our QA and Prod environment is that in Prod we have Power BI Report Server installed; while in QA we did not install the Power BI Report Server.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Art Jovellano

    Hi @Arturo G. Jovellano

    This should not be a problem with Power BI Report Server. I also don't have Power BI Report Server installed, but my subscription works just fine.

    According to your error message, this should be an error caused by the database, please check whether your report server instance can connect to the database.

    Configure a Report Server Database Connection (Report Server Configuration Manager)

    If it is a timeout connection problem caused by too much data, you can refer to this link.
