Hello,
Azure devops gives the below error when I try to create a new service principal(automatic) using the service connection.
Below is the error that pops up-
TF400898: An Internal Error Occurred. Activity Id: 6610d49b-7f50-4412-968f-73cddb0fd343.
Could you please help?

I'm having the same problem, this is my parameters.
I solved the problem, I needed to update my subscription, my payment method was out of date. I opened azure devops, searched for Subscriptions, updated the payment and after a while it was back to normal.
Hello, I am also facing the same Issue as stated in the screenshot above by Gabriel. Can you please suggest whom to connect with to resolve this issue. Thank you.

Same here! even I cannot update the service connections that I created recently.
I also use the free version, but I needed enter with a valid card for free tier. In that, I discovered my subscription was inactive, so I had to activate it in Subscriptions. I recommend you verify this, to see if's the same problem. For verify your subscription, go to: https://portal.azure.com/#home, and search for "Subscriptions" and check if your subscription are active (as in the image below). On the right sides show that the subscription is active.
Hi,
I'm getting the internal error as well when trying to save the new service connector with Azure Resource Manage type

Can you please suggest how to fix that?
Thank you
Hello. Have you verified your subscription is enabled and a payment method is set?
