I am using window server active directory, also using wsus to update for client computers. But i am not sure how to determine that update.

For example, active work hour is 8:00 am - 4:00 Pm, but sometime the user stays online until 5 or 6 PM. And when I configure GPO for automatic update at 9:00 Pm, the computers stays offline, then how do the computers get updated?

I don't the update to get installed in the morning when they turn on the computer. I also don't want the update to happen by the users like manually. I want the update to happen no matter what at the 9:00 pm even if they computer is turned off. Like silently get updated on the background or when computer completely off. I don't wanna waste time for update in the morning when users turn on the computer. The update can be like 10gb and it might take 2hr too ( just assuming an example)

    Hi @TechQ

If the computer is turned off , it cannot install the update.

The computer can download update from WSUS silently but to complete update installation a reboot is required. You should choose a time when the computer is running and inform user about it to reboot his machine.

Please review my guide. I will link you to part 4 which is the policies section but I would recommend reviewing the whole series as each part builds on the previous parts.

The idea is that the system downloads and installs in the background DURING the day and restarts outside of the active hours.
