Hi there,

Do I need an Azure premium subscription to access the Allowlisting section on Azure?

I want to allowlist (whitelist) the IP address of our NordLayer private gateway on the Microsoft Azure Portal. But everytime I click on something to do with Network I am met with this:

you do need an Azure premium subscription to access the Allowlisting section on Azure. The Allowlisting feature is only available in the Azure Firewall Premium SKU, which requires a premium subscription.

The standard SKU of Azure Firewall does not have the Allowlisting feature. However, if you are using an Azure Virtual Network Gateway, you can create a network security group (NSG) and add an inbound security rule to allow traffic from your NordLayer private gateway's IP address.

Once you have completed these steps, traffic from your NordLayer private gateway should be allowed through to your Azure resources.

    Hi @Max Staniland

The message says that you don't have a subscription, and to upload a paid resource you need to subscribe to a subscription.

Do you see any packets drop on the FW? Also you need to allow specific URLs and Service IPs https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-portal/azure-portal-safelist-urls?tabs=public-cloud

    Hope this helps.
