Problem

I am creating an "Azure Stack HCI Cluster" as nested. (I have a VMware vSphere Home lab and make two Azure Stack HCI OS VMs.)

From "Windows Admin Center", I got this situation.

My every NICS on each hosts are marked as "UP (Excluded)"

On next screen, there is no useable NICs for management network settings.

I tried to search solution but I could not find.

Could you advise me what should I do for this case?

    Hello Azure8010

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

There could be couple of reasons for this error. The first one is outdated firmware version and the other one is that you are running WAC on an un-supported OS. Make sure WAC is installed on Windows 10 and above (client) or Windows 2016 or above (Server).

Make sure the NIC firmware and drivers are updated and matched across the systems.

Also, if you are in the cluster creation wizard, I have found that if you don’t completely exit and start the cluster creation over, it won’t pick up any changes that may have been made to the drivers (such as if they are updated).

    Hope this helps.

I experienced the same behaviour with several OS versions (Client and Server) running the WAC. The reason for WAC marking a NIC as "Up (Excluded)" is becauase the NICs driver manufacturer is reported to be "Microsoft". Using the manufactureres Drivers, rebooting the host and starting cluster creation from scratch solved it!

    Hi,

@Azure8010 how did you manage to solve your issue? I have exactly the same.

@vipullag-MSFT any other ideias? I'm running WAC 2211 on Server 2022.

    Thanks,
