    Hi @Richard Groller

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Can you tell me how you sign in to GitHub?

If you want to sign in VS with GitHub account, please add it via File > Account Settings > Add > GitHub

    Sincerely,

    Anna

This can also be avoided for some by choosing not to sign in, then going to File > Account Settings similar to above but choosing "System web browser" instead of "Embedded web browser". devenv_ekWe395iG2

I found my solution via this link. In short, open Tools > Options > Account > "Add and reauth ... using" and select "System web browser" if it's set to "Embedded Web Browser".
