Hello,

I am getting the following error message when signing my Excel sheet: Your signature could not be added to the document.  If your signature requires a smart card, ensure that your card reader is installed correctly.

I am not using a smart card

I a using Window 10 and Office 2016

how to fix this issue to sign the Excel sheet?

Thank you!

    Hi @Sami Audi

It is recommended to start Excel in safe mode (Run excel /safe command in Run dialog) first to test whether you can add signatures.

Safe mode can help us troubleshoot the COM add-ins and startup items.

Could you please check the version number of your Office 2016?

    • If you can see "Update Options" button, it is C2R version of Office 2016, then please make sure it is updated to version 2102 (build 16.0.13801.20266) and later versions.
    • If you do not find the ""Update Options" button, it is MSI version of Office 2016, please ensuer KB 4486746, KB4486747, KB 4486716 and KB4486754 or newer updates are installed.
