Hello everyone,

I want to make a deployment server (WDS) of Windows 10 from Windows Server 2019 (by being linked to a domain).

The server also contains "Windows Server Update Services" (WSUS).

  • I start at the beginning by creating my deployment server (WDS)
  • Subsequently when I want to start it to configure it, I get the following error message: "The service did not respond quickly enough to the launch or control request." Capture d’écran 2023-03-10 133537
  • So I looked on the internet : I modified in "regedit" the temporality to start a service, but in vain.
  • I've also tried exiting the domain, to try off-domain and then later trying again on the domain, but still nothing.

Seeing that no solutions worked, so I created a new virtual machine with a clean installation of Windows Server 2019 but this time just with the Windows Deployment Server (WDS). This time it worked normally, so I was able to start the deployment server without any error messages. Does the problem therefore come from the WSUS server "Windows Server Update Services"? Couldn't the 2 servers (WSUS + WDS) cohabit? Or could that be caused by another problem ?

(Sorry if the text is badly translated, I had to do it with Google Translate...) 😅

Thank you in advance for your answers.

    Hi @Informatique CHLP

1, In my experience, WSUS and WDS can coexist on the same server.

2, This problem could be due to the port 67 DHCP listener, for more details please refer to the following links:
