I recently needed to delete my work account from my Android phone. When attempting to add that same account back via the QR code, it does not add. I tried my Android phone and an Android tablet and both failed. I then tried an iPad and it was successful. Please advise if there are any work arounds

Also try first removing the account from the device as first step. On my android device it would be in Settings\Passwords & accounts

I'm having this same issue. I work at an IT Helpdesk and we've been able to reproduce this on Androids, mine included.
I had an older version of the Microsoft Auth app and it was working. It was version 6.2303.18XX
I've since updated to 6.2303.2086 and I'm unable to add it. See the attached message when trying to scan the QR Code.
ALSO, we've tried Registering the device in the app settings and are still getting the same error message.
This issue IS NOT present on iOS devices.
Note my Android and the others we've been able to reproduce on are on Android 13.
