I have crackling audio sounds when a windows audio wav is triggered, ie: new mail notification, calendar reminder, alert, etc.. It is a windows 10 hyper-v session. The audio is fine on the host machine (windows 11 pro). I have updated the drivers on the host machine. They were originally the stock driver from Microsoft but I replaced them with the drivers from the motherboard mfg from Realtek but it has not made any difference. Audio on the VM via a browser, such as videos on youtube, playback just fine. Thoughts?

    Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query\issues related to Audio in Hyper-V VM.

If you have a Windows VM that gives a lot of crackling sound then On Windows: Control Panel > Go to Sound > Playback Devices > Your Device > Advanced. Now change default format to 16bit, 48000Hz (DVD Quality) from CD Quality.

Then Reboot your VM and check sound quality.

Here is what I see. The advanced tabs, along with the others do not exist, when the playback device is "remote audio" it seems. .
