Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac starts in wrong resolution if menu bar is shown

In macOS Ventura it's possible to disable menu bar auto-hide even in full-screen apps. Set System Preferences->Desktop and Dock->Menu bar->Automatically show and hide menu bar->Never, create a connection to Windows 10 or newer in Remote Desktop, enable "Start session in full screen" and "Update resolution on resize" and connect.

Expected behaviour: the remote desktop is fully visible and takes all space under the menu bar.

Actual behaviour: the remote desktop is clipped, because its height is equal to the monitor height instead of view height (monitor height minus menu bar height).Снимок экрана 2023-03-15 в 14.38.22

Workaround: go out of full screen mode, then back in. The resolution is updated twice on resize and becomes matching.

    Hello there,

You may check the options under Display-->Resolution, where the default setting is Default for this display.

But there are also many other options to choose from to optimize the resolution of your remote connection. If you scroll to the bottom, you can even "Add Custom Resolution.

Windows defaults to 96 d.p.i. while macOS still assumes 72 d.p.i. You can change a Windows machine's resolution (though it doesn't look as good), but not a Mac's. All remote software runs on the same basic technology, so you could try different Mac clients to see if you can get a better result.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
