How to convert a MS Teams meeting chat to a normal group chat?

We have a long-running chat thread that we use for Dev Support. We’ve been adding users to it over time and now have 44 users, and we want to retain the content. It was started as a Teams meeting chat and so has the Calendar icon at the top.

Is there a way of converting it to a regular chat (not a meeting)?

Or any other recommendations you might suggest to retain the conversations?

If the organiser of the meeting event deletes the calendar event or the meeting chat or even leaves the company what happens with the meeting chat?

Meeting chats will persist as long as you don't delete them. When you choose to delete a chat, you will automatically leave the group chat.

Converting to a normal group chat is currently not supported. When the meeting ends or cancels, all chats will continue to be preserved and members can still be added. To get this feature more quickly, I have found feedback in Teams UserVoice, and you could vote for it.

If the meeting organiser leaves the chat or organisation, does that have any impact on the meeting chat e.g. existing meeting members lose access to the meeting chat history?

If the meeting organiser leaves the meeting chat OR leaves the organisation OR deletes meeting calendar event, does that have any impact on the meeting chat & history? e.g. do the existing meeting participants lose access to the meeting chat? or will it continue to preserve and new members can be added?

Hi

According to my tests, the group chat persists after the meeting is canceled. The meeting organizer can't leave the meeting group chat, the organizer can delete attendees, but at least 2 people will remain in the meeting group chat, and the meeting transcript won't disappear after deletion.
