Exchange 2016 CU 23 Outlook 2013 keep asking password

Hello,

We updated Exchange 2016 to CU23.

But now, remote client (outlook anywhere) can't connect, outlook keep asking password.

When client is on site, it is ok.

MAPI client on phones are not impacted. Only Outlook. We have Outlook 2013.

Can you help me?

    Hi @alex a ,

    Disabling basic authentication is not relevant to the local environment, only to Exchange Online. You could try the following method. Refer to: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/troubleshoot/administration/modern-authentication-configuration

    • Modern Authentication is not enabled by default.
    • Modern Authentication can be enabled by setting the DWORD value to 1 in the following registry subkeys: HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity\EnableADAL HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity\Version For more information, see Enable Modern Authentication for Office 2013 on Windows devices.
    • It is recommended that users force Outlook to use Modern Authentication by setting the DWORD value of the following registry key to 1. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\AlwaysUseMSOAuthForAutoDiscover

    It is working with that (basic auth does not work with CU23 anymore):

    And delete saved password

    cmdkey /delete:MicrosoftOffice15_Data:SSPI:%username%@domain.com
