Locked out of Twitter by Authenticator

My Twitter account is switched over to authentication app for 2FA now that SMS 2FA will be unavailable to Twitter users who don't pay up. Twitter now asks for a code from an authentication app.

But in Microsoft Authenticator I am unable to add a personal account. Topping that option results in two options:

Scan QR code (nonexistent, no instructions on finding one, how can you scan something on the same device)

Sign in with Microsoft creates a loop of sign in, get Authenticator code, choose Add personal account but there's no fields to enter, just the QR and login options.

Sign in to your personal account here to turn enable or disable two factor (note: you'll need to use a separate microsoft personal account in order to have cloud recovery protection)
