I no longer receive emails from a trusted sender. How can I fix this?

Not receiving emails from a particular sender where I have been prior, using my Hotmail account. I have tried all other avenues I could think of, not in junk mail, spam, blocked recipient. Is it possible that the emails are being blocked by this server? If so how can this be corrected? Please respond?
