AADSTS50020 I can't sign in to Visual Studio due to old tenant connection that no longer exists

Hello,

I'm having trouble publishing to my Azure account via Microsoft Visual Studio because it refuses to authenticate my account. After entering my password and verifying my account via Authenticator, I am presented with this error message.

AADSTS50020: User account '{emailRedacted}' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant '{tenantRedacted}' and cannot access the application '872cd9fa-d31f-45e0-9eab-6e460a02d1f1'(Visual Studio) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.

The problem is that the tenant no longer exists. It was from a failed startup. I did at one time have a VS license through that company, so I understand that there was a connection at one time. However, this is no longer the case and I have no way to clear that connection. I have my own Azure subscription with the same email, and my VS license is through a different organization now.

How can I disassociate my email/account from that old tenant and get unblocked?

Thank you,

Ryan
