HI Microsoft,

I am working on a project where several applications are being deployed in several regions to have High Availability and Geo-replication requirements. When the Statics are deployed, I can see in the Overview -> location property the value Global.

However, if I see the resource group, I can see the region that it has been deployed

Also, I have a FrontDoor created and in this resource, I can see the Global value in my resource group.

My question is

If for some reason, WestEurope has an outage, downtime or interruption, would I have the Static Web Apps available due to a Global property or should I create another Static Web App in another region to have High Availability and Geo-replication requirements available?

I've been going through Microsoft's documentation but it is not very clear to me on this point.

Thanks for your help,

Cheers,

    Hi @Malvaro ,

It looks like Sam already answered your question in this post: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1190734/static-web-app-global-resource

"Resource groups always exist in a specific region, however if you deploy global resources to that resource group they are not tied to that region and would not be affected by an outage in that region. You do not need to deploy multiple static web apps."

please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

    Grace
