Hi Team,
I have AIP client and MIP both on my system. I have noticed that when I assign rights to a document and try to convert it to PDF from going to file save as PDF it gives me the error as shown in the snapshot attached.
Where as when I uninstall my AIP client and try to do the same it is working fine.
Please let me know if this is the expected behavior.
Also I tried to Print to PDF and was able to convert to PDF however it is not including the encryption and access control settings in the PDF once converted.

To answer your second question, you may need to create a protection policy before MIP will encrypt PDFs.
Also I assume you have an E5 license which is required for MIP to encrypt pdfs. Or you might have an add-on license for Azure Rights Management.(the underlying technology used by MIP).
