Difference between Microsoft Endpoint Protection and Microsoft Defender Antivirus

Hello, We're getting security intelligence updates for both subjected products but wanted understand more about each of them. Could you please help checking if my understanding is correct and share your view if its wrong?

  1. Microsoft Endpoint Protection : Formerly SCEP and not applicable to newer OS like Windows Server 2016, 2019 or Windows 10, 11
  2. Microsoft Defender Antivirus : Applicable to Windows servers 2016,2019 and Windows 10,11
Microsoft Security Intune Configuration Manager Other
Windows for business Windows Server Devices and deployment Configure application groups

    No, windows 10 or later clients don't need to have the Endpoint Protection agent installed, not "not applicable to newer OS like Windows Server 2016, 2019 or Windows 10, 11"

    Microsoft Defender Antivirus : Applicable to Windows servers 2016,2019 and Windows 10,11

    Microsoft Defender Antivirus has the other name Windows Defender.

    Windows Defender is renamed to Windows Security in the newer releases of Windows 10. Essentially Windows Defender is the Anti-virus program and other components together with Windows Defender is called Windows Security.
