Hi,
i'm trying to share reports to external guest users in our AAD, in the PBI Admin center at 'Allow shareable links to grant access to everyone in your organization" we have added the security group for sharing.

The report we try sharing is in a premium capacity workspace.

The external guest user can sign in to app.powerbi.com & usually does not have a license but since the workspace is licensed i assume the user does not need to be licensed.

When trying to access the report the users gets the message that he is not recognized.

"We did not recognize you. Did you enter your credentials correctly?
To get access to this content please contact the person who send you the link."

Is there any special setting required to share to external guest users?

Is it required to 'Allow Azure Active Directory guest users to access Power BI' ?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @E J ,

The users should have valid Power BI Pro licenses assigned to them or enough Premium licenses to assign to each user, and the correct guest permissions also need to be set in order for them to be able to access the Premium workspaces.

In addition to meeting the licensing requirements, you need to make sure that the following settings are enabled:

If they have the right licenses assigned, the tenant settings are in place to allow guest sharing, and the users are using the correct credentials yet still receive this error, they can try switching to a new browser to see if the error gets resolved.

Note also that some restrictions apply. For example, guest users can't use the Power BI Mobile apps, and they won't be able to sign in where a work or school account is required.

If you have met all of the prerequisites to Distribute Power BI content to external guest users with Azure AD B2B and enable external users to view and share datasets yet are still facing this issue, the problem could be a network issue or an issue with a specific service. If this is the case, I would recommend reaching out to the Power BI team specifically. They have a dedicated forum community here , as well as free support for Power Bi Pro users.
