Yes, I know, it is SCOM 2016.....

Environment:

Server 2016/SQL 2016, SP2

Operations ManagerDB, Datawarehouse DB

Server 1 - Mgmt Server 1

Server 2016, Mgmt Server, OPS Console, OPS Web Console

Server 2

** Server 2016, SSRS 2016, attempting to install SCOM Reporting piece

I have installed all the above with no issues at all.

I installed SSRS 2016 from our SQL 2016 iso, same one used to install SQL on the standalone SQL server.

SSRS install went fine. Configured it as suggested in many post, as I have before,. I accepted the default MSSQLServer "instance" it suggested, and everything went well.

Restarted the server before attempting to install SCOM Report Server.

Installing the SCOM Reporting piece, I get to the part where it detects the SSRS server, but then when I select it and and click Next, it goes out to communicate (???), it fails at that point. Says that it does does meet configuration requirements and will go no further.

Any pointers, suggestions,...would seriously be helpful.

Any other info I can provide just let me know...

FYI., I got frustrated with it and uninstalled everything before doing the logical thing which would have been to go through the logs....

    Hi,

    • Each of the following SQL Server components supporting a SCOM infrastructure are required to be at the same SQL Server major version:
      • SQL Server database engine instances hosting any of the SCOM databases (that is,OperationManager, OperationManagerDW, and SSRS databases ReportServer & ReportServerTempDB).
      • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) instance.
    • The SQL Server collation setting must be one of the supported types as described in the SQL Server collation setting section below.
    • SQL Server Full Text Search is required for all SQL Server database engine instances hosting any of the SCOM databases.
    • The Windows Server 2016 installation options (Server Core, Server with Desktop Experience, and Nano Server) supported by Operations Manager database components are based on what installation options of Windows Server are supported by SQL Server.
