If you have an MSDN subscription, it is available on MSDN downloads.

    Hi @Farhad Kayani ,

Unfortunately, Microsoft no longer provides official download links for SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition. It is no longer supported and has reached its end of life.

However, you may be able to find the installation media through third-party websites or resellers. Please note that downloading software from unofficial sources carries the risk of malware and other security issues.

Here is SQL Server installation guide:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/install-windows/install-sql-server?view=sql-server-ver16

In case of OS compatibility, you can choose a newer version of SQL Server.

    Best regards,

    Seeya

MS SQL 2008 R2 is out-of-support since a very long time and therefore there is no public download available for it.

It occurred to me that here is one more option, to wit create an Azure SQL VM. Interesting enough, they still seem to have images with SQL 2008 R2. Obviously, this requires that your organisation gets an Azure subscription.
