Hi there,
I am having two elastic standard SQL servers in Azure (one for test & one for live ).
I'm moving one my AdventureWorksDB(for reference) from test server to live sever in order for the first time live application setup.
Steps followed:
By logging into test sever using SSMS instance, I am taking backup(.bacpac) file of one of my AdventureWorksDB & storing it in storage container by clicking on Export data-tier application & now I logged into live instance using ssms and when I right click on AdventureWorksDB (which is newly created using elastic pool & other required settings without schema & data ) , if I right click there is no option to restore or import data-tier application,
The only option I am left with is to right click on databases and click on Import Data-tier Application
But if I do so , A new AdventureWorksDB*21_*03_2022 is getting created which is not part of the elastic pool , which doesn't serve my purpose . could someone help me on this

You need to Right-click on the database you want to back up, and select Tasks

Hi Geetha, Thanks for your prompt response ,How about my schema & tables ?
I tried steps mentioned by you
test(DB)->Tasks->Import Data-----> After that it asks me to choose the data source with some DD list(which I really don't know).
and there is no option that I could select the .bacpac file which I exported from test sql server (elastic standard tier)
@Raghava Akula You can select OLE DB Driver for SQL Server and click on properties and enter the server details
If you have local backpac exported in a local folder then you need to go with the option
Right-click on Database and select import data tier as shown below
and select the import from local disk
Please let me know if you still have any issues.

@Raghava Akula The error you shared earlier seems to be an Authentication issue,
Do you mean in the test server there are no schemas and tables?
Can you try to check to Allow saving password and proceed to next

trying this, partially helped me as I could migrate tables & data from test to live server , but how can I migrate Stored procedures?
@Raghava Akula Thanks for your response, I was more focused on your original question, for views and schemas Azure data studio is good there are two extensions, SQL Serer DACPAC extension, and SQL Database Projects extension
Please follow this document and let me know if you find any issue
Migrate the database schema from source to target by using the SQL Server dacpac extension or the SQL Database Projects extension in Azure Data Studio.
You can basically migrate the schema with this, no data it extracts the schema into DACPAC
the SQL database Projects extension has more capabilities in it you can exclude/include logins, and objects as per your wish.
