unable to access my word files

I am unable to access my MS office. unable to open the new files received by any one but existing files are accessible. instead of opening the word file Pops up with "Microsoft word needs access to the file" and while trying to give access it ends up showing the the user do not have access to the files. Please solve my issue as I am really facing much difficulty while working and be quick.
