How to fix BitLocker issues?

I downloaded some files from my BitLocker Encrypted computer to a USB Flash Drive as a back up. My hard drive crashed and I lost everything. I had to purchase a new computer. My HP Windows 11 Home does not have any BitLocker functions on it. When I downloaded my USB back up my files (Word, Excel and PDF) will not open. I do have the BitLocker Drive Encryption recovery key, but the USB Flash Drive nor the files have no where to install the recovery key to let me open the files. What do I need to do to open my files?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

    Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query\issues related to Bitlocker.

I believe this is not issue with Bitlocker as it does not encrypt individual files or folders.

There should be some encryption on the USB level OR Files are encrypted using File encryption from File Properties -> Advanced button and select the Encrypt contents to secure data.
