Trying to help a friend go from Windows 7 to 11. Processor is Intel TM 2nd core 5. Ram and storage are good. Is it possible to install Windows 11 with this processor? OR what options do I have? Thank you

Normally, systems running Windows 7 are not compatible with Windows 11.

However, you may have a look at:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors

It contains list of supported processor and if your processor is not listed, then it is not supported.

In this case, depending on the hardware and motherboard , you might upgrade the processor or consider a new supported hardware.

There is no direct upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 11.

Windows 7 may be able to be upgraded to Windows 10 for free.

Most computers running Windows 10 can upgrade to Windows 11 in a supported or unsupported fashion.

Computer upgraded in an unsupported fashion may not benefit from the improvements in performance, reliability, and security.

Also Microsoft reported that there may be problems with Windows and Microsoft defender updates.

You can use official PC Health Check app to determine Windows 11 eligibility:
