Two Part Question:

  • When I upload files from Users OneDrive Account to a Teams Channel from within the Teams Desktop App, am I, a) uploading a copy or b) effectively uploading a shared link (permission defined permitting).
  • Our Admin Officer administers our organizations Policies and Procedures, which will sit in an Admin Teams Channel for access by Users within the organisation Question is doe she change them in a) OneDrive or b) Team Channel or c) Either? Is synching automatic or manual?

A nudge in the right direction would be appreciated.

    Hi @Richard Berry

When I upload files from Users OneDrive Account to a Teams Channel from within the Teams Desktop App, am I, a) uploading a copy or b) effectively uploading a shared link (permission defined permitting).

From my knowledge, there is a Move option in Teams where you can move files to a channel directly in the Teams client. When you move files to a channel, Teams channel files are saved in SharePoint. In both places you can set access permissions, and changes are synchronized automatically.
