Hi Team,
I have created a custom attribute in AD-ON PREM Server. I have already installed Azure AD Connect on the ON-PREM server. I think we need to choose customize synchronization options and need to checkbox directory extension attribute sync to add custom attribute added in AD to get sync with Azure. Is this the right steps? Whether this will impact any other attribute syncing with Azure from ON-PREM.
Please note that the attribute name that I have added in the server not appearing in the available attributes list to select.

2023-03-28T11:39:22.77+00:00 @Andy David - MVP , I followed the below documentation to add custom attribute in AD-ON PREM.
Then restarted Active Directory Domain Services to get reflected in all DC's.
Now, I am not seeing that attribute in the Connectors Page in Azure AD Connect to add the custom attribute or the Azure AD Connect not showing the attribute added in ON-PREM to select from Available options.
Adding this custom attribute to sync will impact other attributes?

After that, you should heopfuly see it as available to map in AADConnect.

Azure AD Connect not showing the attribute name.
This is ON-PREM AD Attribute Editor Page for an user. This confirmed it is available in AD Schema.
Refresh directory schema - I will try this option via Azure AD Connect. Whether this will impact any other directory (or) schema level issue?

AAD Connect shows the custom attribute that I have added.
Adding this custom attribute will not impact any other attributes synchronization. Correct?

If I need to add any other custom attribute to sync with AD, I need to just refresh AAD Schema via AAD Application and add the custom attribute via available attributes. Correct?

2023-03-28T12:53:40.56+00:00 yes, Add the attribute in AD, then refresh the AADConnect schema so it picks up that change in AADConnect, then you can add it in the AADConnect application. You need to do that each time you add additional AD on-prem attributes.
