Excel ignores applied filter when using Ctrl+enter

Today I noticed a change in the behavior of using Ctrl+Enter to enter a value in a range of filtered cells.

Up until today, when i did it, it entered the value only in the cells shown by the filter. And it did it in all cells at once.

Today I noticed that when I use Ctrl+Enter it enters the value going 1 cell at a time and it does it in every cell of the range (ignoring wether the cell is visible or hidden).

Is this change in behavior intentional or is it a bug?

If it is intentional, how can I make it work the way it used to? It slows me down a lot as of now.

Thank you for the support.

    Hi @Francisco Gil

To get this information, you may go to File > Account > Product Information.

My Office version is 2302 (Build 16130.20202), and can not reproduce this issue.

It's recommended to update your Office.

    • Does this issue occur with all workbooks?

I suggest you create a new workbook, and use a simple sample to do a test.

Then, try to select a range that applied a filter and you want to enter data in > Press CTRL+G to open the 'Go To' dialog > Click 'Special' > Select 'Visible cells only' > Enter data in formula bar, press Ctrl + Enter, please check whether the hidden cells are ignored.

Besides, I suggest you try following steps to have a check.

    • Press Win + R > Enter excel /safe to run Excel in safe mode, open one workbook to check this issue. Safe Mode help us troubleshoot the COM Add-ins and start items.
    • Close Excel, locate to %Appdata%\Microsoft\Excel, find Excel15.xlb, please rename it and re-start Excel.
    • Perform an Online Repair for Office from Control Panel.
