My Active Directory DNS resolve only internal domain names but I want to forward DNS queries to Internet names to another internal DNS (e.g. server XX) which is able to resolve extrnal names.

How can I change MS DNS configuration to forward Internet queries to XX dns server ?

    Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query\issues related to DNS forwarding.

    To configure DNS forwarding:

Open DNS Console from AD or DNS server -> Right click the DNS Server object for your server in the left pane of the console, and click Properties -> Click the Forwarders tab -> Click Enable forwarders check-box.

Enter the IP address of the DNS servers you want to route requests to in the IP address box; normally, this is the DNS server for your ISP. They can also be moved upward or downward. The server at the top of the list is given the first chance, and if it doesn't respond within a certain amount of time, the request is passed to the server after it.
