How can I insert a PDF within PowerPoint add-ins

Question

Looking at the API documentation for Powerpoint add-in and trying to understand what is possible. I'm looking to insert a PDF as an image. Similar to what is available in the interface as described in the below article or how you would drag/drop pdf document into powerpoint slide in the interface.

I see the API documentation reference PowerPoint.ShapeType.image, but do not see anything for PDF.
