New Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate path

Hi,

I recently took MD-100 and now going for MD-101.
Since certifications are being re-done in may 2023 will I be able to take the replacement exam MD-102 and become a
Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate?

Microsoft's recommendation is, that if you are in a middle of the path, continue with old next exam. Also when you earn the cert, it doesn't matter, was it done with md100+md101 or md102. Same applies for MS.100+101 vs. MS-102.

Hi Erik,

I suggest you go ahead and pass MD-101 in April. That way you will have earned the certification before the beta exam MD-102 is even available. You have until end of July to take MD-101, but I think it would be better if you take it in April or perhaps May if April is a problem for some reason.

Keep in mind, beta MD-102 exam isn't available until May, and then score results won't be available until some time later (perhaps June or later).

What this means is, if you choose to take MD-102 exam there will be substantial delay before you receive your certification whereas if you pass MD-101 you would have the certification immediately. After July 1st the certification will change to the new name, so you will have same certification as MD-102.
