I get a 0x2EFD error on the Intune Management Center screen when distributing Microsoft365Apps with Intune on Windows 10.

How can I take action to successfully install the apps?

Please note that the device on which the issue is occurring was previously using a device that had installed Microsoft365Apps not via Intune, and we are about to remove that app and change to installing the new app via Intune.

@ts-lab, Thanks for posting in Q&A. From your description, it seems the Microsoft 365 app previously installed on the device is failed to install the Microsoft app from intone.

Based on my experience, if any office related app is running on the device side will prevent the installation. Please go to Task manager and confirm no office related app is running.

Meanwhile, please ensure the "Remove MSI from end-user devices" is set as yes when we deploy Microsoft 365 app from Intune. Check "Before you start" in the following link to see if all are met.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/apps-add-office365#before-you-start

In addition, we can follow the steps under the troubleshooting to see if more finding can be found.

    Hope it can help.

Hi guys, we are having the same issues lately on different customer tenants and on different OS versions (Win10+11). Error code: 0x2EFD

Looks kind of buggy for me when the same issues exist on different tenants and globally. Were there some changes regarding office app installation?
