We came to know that upgrade is completed with error for a sharepoit site.

In the site settings, we can just see upgrade info like upgrade started, completed, errors count, warning count, etc.

Also, it is mentioned for next steps go through upgrade log file. But on that page, we don't have any link.

So, could you please let me know, where we can find log file?

For Sharepoint Online.

Thanks in advance.

    Hello @Anonymous

Fisrt of all, you need enter on portal with Sharepoint admin account, after this you can follow theses steps.

    then>

    SharePoint Central Administration website>Monitoring>Reporting>Diagnostic logging.

In this point you can create a configure a log to components.

    ex:

    Select a category> Select "Upgrade >

    • Least critical event to report to the event log > Verbose
    • Least critical event to report to the trace log > Verbose

Trace Log > select Save > OK

After that, on trace log you can now search for a upgra-date.log

I hope this is what you are looking.

And if yes, please don't forget the accpet and upvote the answer

For SharePoint Online, you cannot check log files. You should open a service request to check log files.

    For SharePoint 2013, go to %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\15\LOGS.

    For SharePoint 2016 and 2019, go to %COMMONPROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\16\LOGS.
